Goofy Girls!

Annual Hendersonville Christmas Trip, 2010, we had a blast. This picture here is of two goofy girls, on left is my daughter, Natasha, who is more like my sister and on the right is my sister's daughter, Asheton, who is more like me. They were clowning around waiting on me, mom and Deborah as we browsed around the Hospice Store.

It was so cold, but there was no snow this year. We really ran out of time this year, and ended up exchanging our gifts with each other at Krispy Kreme on the way back home. We usually do it while we are eating lunch, but we ate on Main Street and did not have the gifts with us. And it was too cold to go back to the car and get them. We all had silly glasses on and all of us eventually had our picture taken sitting in this tub!

I think next year, it will be time to introduce Natasha's oldest daughter, Allyssa, to this part of our lives that "no man shall be allowed" !!!!!!! Wup!!!

I need Spring.....
Although I enjoy getting a little cold and having a small amount of snow before Spring arrives, I have decided today that this is enough of the cold weather....

Back in November the day before Thanksgiving, i was at work and had a chick-fil-a sandwich that i was going to heat in the microwave for lunch. Now I know in the back of my mind that these sandwiches are wrapped in a foil-lined wrap, but didn't think one minute about tossing that sandwich in the microwave..... i was standing there, just waiting on the timer to "ding", listening to the jibber-jabber of co-workers as they were eating lunch, when another co-worker, stumbling over her words was telling me to check my sandwich, it was on fire....yes, you heard correctly it was on fire, so intelligent me opens the door, pulls out the sandwich and proceeds to blow out the flames, of course black ashes are floating and flying everywhere, co-workers stop jibbing and are watching me not sure of what just happened! The first thing I thought of was grabbing the fire extinguisher, then deciding against it, than I thought, crap, what am I going to do for lunch now.....

Believe it or not, my sandwich was not harmed in this catastrophe and lunch continued in the canteen as usual...... Of course, after lunch several people asked me what happen and I reiterated the story with my laughing so hard at myself that I could hardly tell them what happen.

Life goes on....

Now since it has been sooo dang cold outside, I took my lunch on Friday, plus my Mom had told me she had plans so we were not going to meet as usual for our Friday lunch. I get to work about to freeze in my tracks, because, let's face it, I DO NOT LIKE COLD WEATHER AND IT WAS IN THE LOW 20'S, so I am trying to get everything together to jump in my truck to head to work. Go to walk out the door and what happens? I drop my lunch, I bend down to pick it up and head on out to my vehicle and head to work. Get in the parking lot, park, turn ignition off, put keys in pocketbook. I already have the plan in my mind as I get ready to get out, slowly walking fast, if that is possible, to get inside. Employee badge, check, pocket book, check, my "down-time-never-g0-anywhere-without-it" bag with my "emergency equipment" of a Food Network magazine, calendar, new book about journal spilling, and of course my colored pencils and markers, check, coffee, check, coat zipped up, check, lunch, check.

I get out of the truck and start to walk and what happens, yes, i dropped my lunch AGAIN. Now i had a plate of pork chop, green beans, creamed potatoes and a canned pepsi and a energy drink. After a few choices thoughts, I reach down to get the lunch and hoping that it mostly stayed in the container, saying to myself, "I don't believe this is happening, not once, but twice".

I get inside safely without the psycho lunch harming anymore precious time, clock in and go to my work space to try and salvage it. Now the container it was in was tin pie plate which had a plastic cover that fit snuggly over it, before it has been dropped 2 times. The second I pull it out of the bag to rearrange it, my friend at work says, "Nancy, you can't heat that at lunch in that pie plate. You know that, right?" Heck no, I wasn't thinking about that and Heck yes I would have put it in there. So now I have to find a paper plate to change everything.

My day proceeds smoothly thinking the whole time how good lunch was going to be, finally lunch arrives. I take my mouth-watering lunch to the breakroom to heat up, put it in the microwave, everything is going well, then I get ready to take it out and the plastic cover has started to melt, just my luck. I was thinking to myself, I hope no one has seen this idiot pulling another one of her crazy stunts. I quickly get it out and nearly run out the door to get back to my lunch table.

As it turns out, nothing was ruined and I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch to the fullest. Just another day in the life of me!!!

Undescribable....

Today is a day I don't think I will forget for a while. I had a major personal think happen today that I am not ready to discuss with anyone else right now. I am not sure what is going to happen in the next month.

We have Allyssa tonight. She is watching the Magical Kingdom with jet li with Papa. She is such a mess...

Natasha is going through some rough times as well and not sure what the outcome of that is going to be.

Maybe in a couple of days, weeks, who knows, I can get it all down in writing, but right now it is difficult to come to terms with.

I'm back!

Ok, I know it has been nearly a year since I last logged in and I hope to change that with this post! Allyssa has just turned 8 years old, Dakota turned 3 in October and Reagan turned one in December!

To catch up on my medical status, the last post was about the test on my gallbladder being negative and I was referred to a gastrointerologist who set me up for a colonoscopy. 3 medium and 1 small polyp later and the prescriptions for a some type of bacteria I am still have problems with my digestion. Don't really have the pain I was having though. So I am just dealing with it for now!
I am still working at T&S totally been moved away from devil child. I work in shipping now and love it!

Nick and Ashley are expecting a little boy (my first grandson) in February, woo-hoo! Natasha is done having babies, woo-hoo!

Vincent became the proud owner of "Vincent's Watersports" in June! He was actually working there before when it was "Hendrix Watersports", but Lance wanted out so he turned the business over to Vincent!

The only pets we have now are Hanzo our 1 year old Long-Haired German Shepherd and Miss Kitty our 9 year old tabby!

One of our neighbors was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 months ago. She has started chemo and is doing great. She has lost her hair but is doing well with that also. She is a hairdresser so she has her wig styled just right! She still has Mazey (short for Amazing Grace) who is taller than Hanzo, but they play together all the time! She usually gets the best of Hanzo, maybe because he lets her, hmmm?

OK, I think that this is enough for now!

Windy Monday...

Today was a "sick" day for me. I woke up this morning and as I started to get ready for work, it just did not want to deal with it. So I took a sick day. I had lunch with Mom and Allyssa (since school was out due to the President's Day holiday, and then I came home and have done NOTHING except play around in my journal. My brother Wayne texted me with a copy of a book asking of that is the kind of book I have been looking for. (I have been looking for hard-back approx. 200 page, books to make altered books from.) I said yes. He and Tina were at the Greenville Habitat for Humanity Store on Rutherford Road and found some that he was going to pick up for me. Sweet! Mom and Allyssa were going to see little Miss Mary (Hudson) from church who is in a nursing home right now for rehabilation. Miss Mary loves Allyssa and Allyssa loves to go visit her. Allyssa has enjoyed going to nursing homes since she was around 3 years old.
The wind of blowing something fierce outside. I am waiting on the roof of the house to blow right off. I can imagine how two of the Three Little Pigs felt when the big bad wolf was blowing down their houses! But the sun has been shining all day and the temperature has been comfortable. So that is a very good thing. I am waiting on spring!

A Beautiful Day!!!

Aren't these little turtles the cutest things! I woke up at 7:30 this morning with the sound of the birds chirping...was it because I get up so early during the week to head to work or was it because SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER!!!!! I opt for the later. I had the most wonderful walk, just me and my camera. I saw the first robin, obviously because I have not been paying attention lately. I think they are around our area all the time. I seen 2 red-headed woodpeckers, several back-capped chicadees, red cardinals, blue jays, blue birds, mockingbirds, wrens, squirrels. It was great! The air was so fresh....well as fresh as it can be with all the pollution, etc.! I watched the sun come up over the house across the street. We really don't know the peacefulness we miss when we don't get up and get out before alot of people WAKE UP and get moving. I seen an older man outside wiping his truck down with some cleaner and a cloth, one just walking in his yard. Nice........
Had lunch with Nick yesterday. It was so nice to see him, since we don't see him often enough. He got a truck yesterday, Toyota Tacoma. He is happy. Natasha has a weekend with no children, she is happy. I think we are happy right now! Well, will try to post more later. Nick is bring me a dog kennel so I can make the one I have bigger for Hanzo. Woo-Hoo, as soon as the night weather warms up a bit and I can trust him to stay in the kennel while we are not here, OUT HE GOES. I can deal with Miss Kitty in the house, she don't care if you are here or not, but Hanzo wants all the attention all the time! Off to lunch with Mom and a relaxing break at Atlanta Bread Company! ITS ALL GOOD!

Little Reagan's foot is so cute. You just want to kiss it. Look at her big toe! She is so pretty. Just sleeps right through all the choas and noise at her house. Natasha calls it a circus! Dakota never "lights" anywhere and Allyssa wants to play her cd player at the highest volume and the same cd over and over, (Taylor Swift). But is don't seem to bother little Reagan!
Had the scan to check my gall bladder today. It came back negative. So now I am being referred to a gastroenterologist on February 20. It's good that it is not my gall bladder but I am having pain and it is coming from something.....
Had lunch with Mom today and then we went to Atlanta Bread Company for a Kona Mocha Cafechillo. Mainly we just went to talk in a rather "quiet" surrounding. We sat by the fire place (gas logs) but is was really nice. No where to go, did not have to be in a hurry.
Nice.........
Finished a scrapbook page I had almost completed, but had to add a few little touches to make it complete in my mind. So now I need to start another one. Thinking about a page with a picture of Deborah and me when we were around 1 and 3 in that order.
Need to do a birth page on Reagan's birth too.....
